Back at the end of Feb, I applied for a small grant to fund some collaborative research on the biochemistry of food production by the MightyGreenMonster. I thought was a long shot, but I got it!!!
Second bit of good news: The Harper government has finally fallen in a non confidence vote!
I've traveled far and wide to get here. For sentimental reasons I've held onto my old blogposts. If you're curious about my past this blog used to be called Canadian GirlPostdoc in America. It documented my experience as a Canadian postdoc living and working in the United States. Now I work in the biotech industry and practice buddhism. Still married to HippieHusband and we've since had an addition - our dog.

Woohoo on the grant!
not sure how I feel about the election. I'm a cynic that doesn't really have faith that our fellow citizens really understand how much Harper has been undermining our institutions. They don't feel it or see it, so everything must be OK...
@SM I guess we'll see. My fingers are crossed that Cdns don't pull what the Americans did with Bush and vote him in again. OMG that would be just so dreadful.
Congrats on getting the grant! That's awesome!
Congrats on the grant!!
I'm with ScientistMother on the election. I am happy about the fall but worried that Harper might rise from the ashes with a majority. Let's hope not.
Yes, whoohoo about the grant especially when everyone I know applied for grants and hasn't been successful.
Ho hum about the news about Harper. I'm not sure what I think really.
