Things left to do.
1. Get draft of first postdoc manuscript to Dr.Add'EmUp before I leave. This is a must do. As soon as I move on to the next position, it will be so much harder to find the time to finish. It's about 2/3 done. The statistical analysis is what's killing me.
2. Finish data collection for the second postdoc manuscript. This is really close. I think I can do this over the next 3 days. What's great is that I've already written up the methods section for this paper. The data is relatively straightforward to analyze so I'm hoping that this gets submitted before the end of the year.
3. Send my evolved critters to a collaborator. Now that I have done my part of the project, it's her turn to take over. We spoke this morning and she's pretty awesome as far as collaborators go. We have a lot of fun discussing science and our work.
4. Return all my library books.
5. Meet with HR for my exit interview. Oh boy this will be fun. Where should I start...
6. Train the sole remaining member of the lab. Low priority for me, high priority for Dr.Add'EmUp.
7. Give Dr. Add'EmUp all the data from both projects and show him where and how I've archived and stored freezer stock of our experiments.
8. Organize said data.
9. Buy two gifts. One for my undergrad, who although spazzes out in the lab in ways that would make you groan, is for the most part an enthusiastic and very hardworking girl. The second gift is for the lab tech. We've had our moments. I'm not a big fan of writing nasty things about the people who work under you. They have no power. Supervisors and faculty are fair game.
10. Pack up my office and fuck off.
What's that they say about Dodge?
I've traveled far and wide to get here. For sentimental reasons I've held onto my old blogposts. If you're curious about my past this blog used to be called Canadian GirlPostdoc in America. It documented my experience as a Canadian postdoc living and working in the United States. Now I work in the biotech industry and practice buddhism. Still married to HippieHusband and we've since had an addition - our dog.

Good Luck in your new position,
Your blog has been so helpful to me as I start preparing to apply for post-docs, so thank you.
Stace
"just a bit longer" is how I feel right now too!
All the best with your new position and yay for getting the hell out of Dodge.
good luck! Remember that even if HR says "this is confidential" it never really seem to be...
and the "moments shared" sounds interesting.
Hope the new place is much greater and you can start with a fresh new outlook.
Thanks everyone for your good wishes!
@Stace
I'm glad that you find it helpful!
@chall
Yes. I know those things are never confidential. Would love to rant about the moments shared, but I respect that there is a power imbalance and so I don't feel it would be fair.
