Today I was offered a postdoc in YummyLargeCity, USA. Before I left for my vacation, however, another job that I had applied for called me and said they were very interested in me and if I got offered a job, could I please let the, know and they’ll get the ball rolling.
I have a couple of weeks to make up my mind. I'd prefer the other position but the postdoc I was offered is a big step up in terms of university size and community. In addition, should I choose to remain in academia, it could offer amazing potential for setting up a very cool research program. And even if I don’t choose to stay academic-bound, I’ll get some very sought after industry related skills.
At the very least, HippieHusband and I won't have to stay "small".
